A Ritual For Clearing Stagnancy
Home As Energy
There are days when the energy feels heavy.
Mood lingers. Light dulls.
Nothing’s wrong, but nothing’s quite right either.
When this happens, I clean.
As a way to invite movement where there’s been stillness.
To shift the mood not just in the room, but in me.
This is a ritual of restoration.
Of honouring the home as a living being.
Of making space for peace to return.
The Clearing Ritual
1. Begin with breath + purpose
Stand still in the centre of your space.
Breathe slowly.
Say to yourself:
“This is a ritual. I am moving energy. I am returning to peace.”
2. Choose a space
Just where the mood feels thickest.
Trust your body to guide you.
3. Move with presence
Wipe the surfaces.
Sweep the floors.
Let each movement be slow, steady, rhythmic.
Let it move through your body too.
You are shifting.
You are making room for light again.
4. Rearrange, refresh, revive
Open a window.
Move a chair.
Put a thriving plant where it can be seen.
Let the space breathe differently.
5. Close with stillness
Pause in the cleaned space.
Notice the calm.
Feel how your body responds.
Say quietly:
“Something old has been cleared.
Something new can begin.”
Your home holds your energy.
When the outer world feels chaotic,
bringing order to your inner space can restore peace.
Cleaning, as a ritual, is a way back to yourself.
