About Wā
Kia ora,
In te reo Māori, wā means time, space, and season, all together. When I was creating this studio, I wanted it to be a place like what I had with my late nana as a child: a place you come back to, again and again, as your visionary desires and goals evolve. To share, grieve, learn, grow, and celebrate all of the beauty that happens when creating with meaning and intention.
You might have a vision to share your art through an exhibition, create more impact in your consultancy, or develop a product that breathes depth and beauty. Something outside of you that you're working to bring into the world. But the real work attached to these creations is the becoming and personal growth. When you start one big venture, other parts of your life need support too. Sometimes that means stepping away from where you feel comfort and belonging, trusting you're off the traditional pathway.
That's what Wā is here to support. How you’re showing up in your day to day is meaningful data that can inform better decision making and choices that lead to profound self-initiated change and moving yourself into your vision with ease, adventure, and connection. Wā offers one-on-one coaching, group gatherings, the global podcast, and Letters from Cleo.
Everything is connected. Your vision isn't just something you're working toward but it's working through you. And when each of us pursues our vision without encroaching on another's ability to do the same, we start to see the relationships between our visions. The ways we can all do what we're here to do, alongside each other.
And I share with you my favourite words from the brilliant book, Oh The Places You’ll Go, by Dr Seuss:
Congratulations!
Today is your day.
You’re off to Great Places.
You’re off and away!
You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes.
You can steer yourself
any direction you choose.
You’re on your own. And you know what you know.
And YOU are the guy who’ll decide where to go.
I would love to hear how things are going with your journey. Get in touch with what’s next for you.
Mauri ora,
Cleo Shortland
