In 2025, the United Nations confirmed that not a single one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals is on track — and the gap is not one that governments can close alone. It will be closed by visionaries like you, and like Nick Loosely of Everybody Eats, who are already building the world the goals describe. The question is no longer which goals call to you. Over time, I’ve come to experience this bird as a sign that meets me where I am. On the days when I’m impatient to “get there faster”, to force clarity, to make everything happen at once, the kingfisher reminds me: Be patient. Watch carefully. Strike when the time is right.</image:caption>

The window is wide open, no matter the season. We make a tea. Earthy. Fresh. Alive. We take turns speaking. It doesn’t take long. But by the time we close the window, something inside has opened. We send the kids into the day. We move into our work. But we’ve already aligned with what matters.</image:caption>

<image:caption>In 2015, every nation on earth agreed on something remarkable: a shared blueprint for the future. 193 countries (rich and poor, large and small) signed on to 17 goals designed to transform our world by 2030. They called it the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. We know it as the Sustainable Development Goals, or the SDGs. This was a universal call to action: to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure that all people can live with dignity, opportunity, and peace.</image:caption>

<image:caption>A ritual is something you choose to do with your whole presence. It’s how you bring the unseen into practice and how we turn the ordinary into the sacred and special. Ritual comes when we slow down enough to be present to it. Lighting a candle slowly. Stirring the tea while whispering a wish. Saying aloud what we desire. Walking backwards into the future Ritual roots us back into the ancient. Before clocks, we followed the moon. Before manuals, we followed the wind. Before meetings and metrics, we gathered in circle and told stories. In every culture, ritual was how we connected to land, to ancestors, and came back to ourselves. We carry this lineage forward.</image:caption>

<image:title>The Full Library - Ikigai for Visionaries in the In-Between - Finding your reason for living</image:title>
<image:caption>Ikigai is Japanese for “a reason for being”, blending iki “being” an gai “worth.” And it’s about finding meaning in daily activities rather than waiting until your infinite vision has come into being. When you have outgrown the old role, business, or identity, this is a really good ritual to look at how you wish to live your life. I return to my Ikigai again and again. I remember sitting outside the library, confused about where I was heading. I had grown a successful business but I didn’t want to work in it anymore. Then a man approached me and began to share his story of being in his own in-between and shared a concept I had never heard of before: Ikigai.</image:caption>

<image:title>The Full Library - Moko Kauae, The Right Of Passage Of Cultural Identity For A Wahine Māori - Candy Black (Aunty) has given Cleo Shortland permission to share her story of receiving her moko kauae, which was a privilege to witness as she ignited her rite of passage of cultural identity for a wahine Māori. This is an opinion piece based on Aunty’s individual journey and we do not claim this to be the view of our Iwi or Māori.</image:title>
<image:caption>I am Māori, I am enough. “I am Māori, I am enough.” This is the mantra that Aunty carried with her in the journey to receiving her moko kauae. She isn’t sure when this journey began, but that in the years since her mother (Nana) passed, she has had what she describes as a calling. “I have been slow to respond to this calling. It’s been there. Slowly getting louder.” Aunty said. Aunty’s tā moko journey began when she sought to express her identity through ink on skin. Her first piece encompassed Ranginui and Papatūānuku surrounding the names of each of her tamariki. Her forever. She went on to receive a lot more tā moko over the years.</image:caption>
